Journal «Mekhatronika, Avtomatizatsiya, Upravlenie» has been published regularly the year 2000; until 2001 it was published under the name «Mechatronics».

The key purpose of the new journal was to cover the current state and prospects of the development of mechatronics and robotics – priority areas of the development of technosphere. The journal «Mekhatronika, Avtomatizatsiya, Upravlenie» till now has wide popularity and it is the only Russian public journal covering the mechatronics problems, integrating mechanics, electronics, automatics and informatics in order to create the technology of new generations.

For the time being along with the problems of mechatronics, the Journal covers topical issues of development, creation, implementation and operation of mechatronic systems and technologies in such fields as machine tool industry, robotics, aerospace engineering, biomedical instrumentation and consumer devices.

The initiator, inspirer and active force of the establishment and issue of the Journal came the Director of publishing house “New Technology” B.I. Antonov.

Since its Foundation, the editor-in-Chief of the Journal has been well-known scientists: M.M. Arshansky, V.S. Kuleshov, N.A. Lakota and E.D. Teryaev.

The first members of the Journal’s Editorial Board were leading experts in the field of mechatronics, automation and control representing academic, higher education and industrial science. Many members of the first Editorial Board still cooperate with the journal.

Since 2012 the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal is professor N.B. Filimonov.

Since 2001 the Journal regularly came under in the «List of periodic scientific and technical publications issued in Russia, in which the publication of the main results of thesis for the degree of Doctor of Science».

Since 2015 each article of the Journal is assigned an individual index, DOI (Digital Object Identifier).

The Journal is indexed in scientific repositories and bibliographic Russian databases on the eLIBRARY.RU platform: Russian Scientific Citation Index and SCIENCE INDEX, and also in International research databases: Inspec on the EBSCOhost platform and Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) on the Web of Science platform.
